There are four classes at Hazel Hurst School
Nursery (children between 2 and 3 years)
Kindergarten (children between 3 and 4 years)
Lower Prep (children between 4 and 5 years - Reception age)
Upper Prep (children Key Stage 1 upwards)
All staff are fully qualified and we take great pride in ensuring that staff to children ratios are never compromised.
The Headteacher is Mrs Rosie Eadie.
The school year consists of 3 terms with the daily routine broken down as follows:
Morning session 9.00am - 12.15pm (12.30pm Lower & Upper Prep)
Afternoon session: 1.30pm (1.45 Lower & Upper Prep) - 3.30pm
The above sessions are interspersed with lunch and outdoor play sessions. All children can be dropped off at the school at 8.30am.
Some part time places are available for younger children (mornings only sessions) subject to availability.
In keeping with our philosophy of individual teaching and care, children's personal dietary requirements are fully catered for (subject to parents written requests). All children stay for school lunch which is a healthy meal freshly prepared daily in the school kitchen making this an enjoyable social part of the school day for both children and staff.
The school has its own Before and After School care. Children can be brought to school as early as 8.00am and collected as late as 6.00pm and are looked after by the school's own teaching staff ensuring continuity of care at all times. A light tea is provided. Children can play indoors or outside whilst being supervised by 2 members of staff. There is an additional cost for this service - details can be obtained from the School Manager on 0115 9606759.
School fees are due at the start of each term and the current amounts are a follows:
Nursery £1500 per term
Kindergarten £1630 per term
Lower & Upper Prep £1685 per term
The school fees are inclusive of tuition fees, lunches, swimming (Kindergarten class upwards), books, stationery and pupils' personal accident insurance. A 5% discount is available for each second and subsequent brother or sister attending Hazel Hurst together.
We are registered with Nottinghamshire Early Years and Childcare Services to provide funded places for all 3 and 4 year olds. More information on reductions in tuition fees due to the Early Years funding can be obtained from the School Manager.
